Membership of the Fund

5. (1) A public officer or a person, as the case may be, who-

(a) is employed on permanent and pensionable terms and is aged 40 years or below at the commencement of this Act; or

(b) joins the public service, after the commencement of this Act, on permanent and pensionable terms 10 years or more prior to attaining the prescribed compulsory retirement age as set out in the relevant laws governing the retirement of public officers, is a member of the Fund, and membership is mandatory.
